Well, most whites left Chicago, that much is true. The Census does in fact show that whites left the city, for the most part.
But that's true in almost every major city.
Decades ago. The person who I quoted essentially believes that all the white people are still leaving and almost gone today, and that Chicago is going the way of Detroit because of that. That isn't correct since the single largest group that left in the 00s were African Americans. The white population remained relatively unchanged by comparison, although it did shrink a small amount.
His idea that Chicago hasn't been a beautiful place since it was vastly whiter is also absurd, but that is his prejudiced problem.

Most White flight began in the 50s to suburbs. Then Radical Racial strife of the 60s had its greatest flight. By the 90s it stabilized . But influx of Latinos has furthered lowered White %s. It's an ugly city even, only downtown is decent and the skyscapers are actually impressive. The rest of the city just looks scary to me.
