Well i would only sleep and shower in Staten Island if i lived there and spend the rest of my time in Manhattan.
Yeah but SI is the only borough where you actually need a car. NYC has the best PT system in America but Staten Island has no subway. Rubbish. It practically feels like New Jersey.
As a born and raised New Yorker, Manhattan is the only Burough that functions like an independent city. I prefer Manhattan to San Fran (though I love San Fran). Chicago and Queens while having some similarities, is not a fair fight. Chicago is a fully functioning city, with some of the greatest amenities in the country.

True but you could always take the FREE 24/7 ferry from St.George to Battery Park.
It only took me 42 minutes from Times Square to New Brighton (SI),
That distance is like 20 miles by car, only 10 miles if you take the subway and ferry.
