Anyone want to place wagers on what Phoenix's outcome will be tomorrow? Phoenix population was 1,321,045 a decade ago and estimates have it as 1,638,283 now. IMO I dont think Phoenix grew by 320K

Tomorrow Chicagoland will be complete at MSA & CSA level with the release of Wisconsin along with the figures for Milwaukee for MSA, CSA, & City. We'll know whether or not Phoenix becomes the 5th largest city or stays at 6th largest and what it's MSA population comes out too. We'll have the population totals for Tucson MSA & City too.

I keep forgetting but they're releasing another state tomorrow, but I cant remember which one, but yeah there's another one coming out tomorrow too. After tomorrow that will leave 3 more weeks in March until April 1st, and 16 more states (average 4 state per week for the next 3 weeks). The biggest states remaining being NY, GA, MI, FL, NM, & MA.

Also for what it's worth, here is New York's Combined Statistical Area (CSA) so far without New York (State) in the mix:

New York CSA (Without NY (State)):

- Sussex County, NJ: 149,265
- Hunterdon County, NJ: 128,349
- Mercer County, NJ: 366,513
- Pike County, PA: 57,369
- Litchfield County, CT: 189,927
- Fairfield County, CT: 916,829
- New Haven County, CT: 862,477
Total: 8,864,330
Hmm. So I expected to see a little drop in population of Chicago, little below the 2,700,000 mark. San Jose got some little growth with about 945,000. I did not expect the Los Angeles population to get only about 3,800,000. This was almost the first time the CA DOF was wrong. San Diego, my city, stayed at 8th with 1,307,402 (durf was partly wrong) and below San Antonio by 20,000 with about at 84,002 gain (the Census says its 6.9 percent).

San Diego's metro is huge. 3,095,313??? Beats me!

just about every city that did grow, grew more than Dallas. Dallas only grew by 9K and I am sure that Phoenix grew by at least 10 times that much.

what I can't see happening is Phoenix growing more than Houston, San Antonio and LA in the last 10 years

Thanx for compiling the information....I am surprised....I thought Philadelphia county had grown by 50,000 or so more than the final count.

I am THRILLED that Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's MSA has finally stabilized, as well as their respective counties and actually grew albeit slowly, in population. It's my hometown(area).

SCRANTON:
1990 Population: 81,805
2000 Population: 76,415
2009 Estimate: 71,944
2010 Population: 76,089

1990 - 2000 Change: -5,390
2000 - 2010 Change: -326

WILKES-BARRE:
1990 Population: 47,523
2000 Population: 43,123
2009 Estimate: 40,964
2010 Population: 41,498

1990 - 2000 Change: -4,400
2000 - 2010 Change: -1,625
This is good news as you say the population of the cities of Scranton and Wilkes-Barre seems to have stabilized. Lackawanna and Luzerne counties actually grew a bit and the Scranton/Wilkes/Barre MSA beat the trend and grew modestly as well.....hopefully this trend will continue and accelerate.
