Denver doesn't have a Mediterranean climate, the coastal areas of California, Oregon, and Washington do. Denver has a semi-arid/arid climate, very dry climate with little precipitation.
Oregon and Washington do not have Mediterranean climates. Much too wet and too cool in the summer. Mediterranean climates have sun, lots of sun all year long, like California.

It's interesting than Los Angeles and San Diego are often classified as 'Mediterranean' when by rainfall they are semi-arid. San Diego is on the edge of being arid with just over 10 inches a year.
Finally, Mediterranean climates in the USA are found on the coasts of California, Washington, and Oregon (cities like LA, SD, SF, SEA, POR). California is typically a sub tropical Mediterranean climate with little rainfall, while OR & WA are oceanic Mediterranean climates with more rainfall.
Which climate do you prefer?
I think you are confusing the terms.
Actually OR and WA, BC coasts are maritime climates more comparable to British Isles and the UK, not Mediterranean. Its to cool and wet in the winter and early summer is fairly mild well into early July. Big difference. Generally Mediterranean climates are much hotter in the summer and generally fall below 40 degrees latitude. Southern California coast is Mediterranean like Spain, Southern France, Italy etc.
Denver is definitely more arid. But much of the inter mountain west in Oregon and Washington and Idaho is a mix of high alpine and arid. The forest service puts out a pretty good map. You can see the climate zones pretty well below.

I'll take Mediterranean, but I do enjoy a few humid days in the summer, especially when the T-storms roll in. Don't get a lot of those down in LA.
I totally miss those thunderstorms as well- we used to get an occasional monsoonal one in August or Sep. when a large front spilled over from Arizona but even those seem rare now.
I am loving the rain here today- light as it is.
