As we all know, we all have different beliefs as to what the ideal climate should be. Some prefer sun, while others prefer clouds. Some like the heat, while others find it horrid. It is akin to asking somebody what their favorite color is; it is all subjective. I find it distasteful how some disparage those who like a certain climate or think that because they do not like a particular climate, nobody will.

I have selected a few cities that represent the diverse climates of the US. Which do you prefer?

I guess it depends on what you like. I enjoy sunny mild weather with warm winters that still see some rain and clouds during those months. Naturally my choice is Los Angeles. It's sunny and warm with out being too hot like Phoenix, humid like Tampa and cold in the winter like Denver. And it's not as rainy as SF or Seattle. To me it's the perfect mix of everything I want.

I can't figure out your reasoning. Why are Chicago and Boston so far apart?

Since I moved to LA my weather preferences have changed significantly. I used to prefer hot and humid and now I can't stand either. I used to think that LA was often chilly, but now I'm so accustomed to the weather here that I consider the majority of the country (especially the southern half) practically unlivable.

1. Los Angeles (coastal)
2. San Francisco
3. Seattle
4. Denver
5. Boston
6. Kansas City
7. Chicago
8. Nashville
9. Tampa
10. Dallas
11. Phoenix

I voted Seattle, but I imagine I'd like San Francisco a lot, too, possibly more. But I've never been there. Most of those wouldn't suit me at all due to hot summers.

This is how many Coastal Californians feel about everywhere not on the West Coast with respect to summer heat---its all a hot mess.

Boston's summers are too cold, it sees less t'storm activity and snowfall's not as frequent (although I do like the fact that they see more major snowstorms).

So do you like it really cold in the winter and really hot in the summer and not like the weather in between? Or do you just like a place with lots of variety?
