While in logistic Atlanta edge out Dallas. Telecommunication, and technology Dallas is clearly ahead, Energy, and manufacturing Houston is ahead, and medical Houston edge Atlanta. Tourism Miami is clearly ahead and I heard they have a lot of Caribbean banks down there. So there is no king of the south, Atlanta is not the king of the south but neither are they.
I don't know about that one. GE building a big train plant in the Alliance area of Fort Worth. Suppose to bring over 500 well paying jobs. Remember BNSF is already headquarted in Fort Worth. Also Tower 55 the regional train mix master is in downtown Fort Worth. I wouldn't give a edge to Atlanta in logistics but probably a draw. DFW has already made it clear they want to over take both Chicago and Los Angeles in logistics. Houston will play a huge part in making that happen with the expansion of the port of Houston. Houston and DFW are no longer competing aganist each other. They want to eliminate there competition. They have no desire to bring Austin and San Antonio along for the ride. The high speed rail is still on the table between both metro's. The goverment has awarded 15 million dollars for design and 2 billion will be allocated to Texas to help build the system. Atlanta may need some help from its neighbors to compete but I don't know what industries the other cities excel at better than Atlanta. It will be very interesting to see what Atlanta does in the future.

Atlanta is only "king of the South" if you exclude Texas and Florida from the South.

What levels Last time I checked they all fell short to each other in same form or fashion. I would say there all about on the same level. So please explain all these levels.

Atlanta I would say comes closest to feeling like its actual size.

Houston feels far larger than it is. The huge freeways and massive skylines are the reason for me.
You think Houston has a massive skyline?

It does when you factor in all the CBDs within the area.

But is massive, at least in its sprawl. In all honesty it is fairly impressive in peron. It just seems so odd, Tall buildings in random cluster interspeced with suburban homes. It looks so unnecessary and never truly feels 100% urban or suburban. Many times while impressed by the skylines you do get the feeling that a lot of seems like it someone was built to make the place seem greater than it is and not out need like many other cities. Like a big hulking SUV to be driven on the highway with no passengers
