Albany a really small city. It just serves as the state capital and that's really it.

I voted for CA because I took the entire states into account and tried to focus on things other than just cities. NY wins when it comes to cities with NYC alone IMO.

But I prefer CA with other things like weather, nature, + beaches

Krisps,
Why do you say The poll is rigged lol ?

I think it's interesting that San Francisco and Los Angeles are world class cities sharing the same state together.

Really the only state thats like that. And they both can rival New York city on their own. With all things to consider i rank Texas & Florida as the #2 and #3 states respectively.NYS is #4 followed very closely by Georgia.

Albany is more than a capital city. It also has an industrial history and has a dense built environment. It is also one of the oldest cities in the country. There are also other urban options in its metro area as well(Schenectady, Troy, Saratoga Springs, Cohoes(to a lesser degree).

Followed closely by GA?

You do realize that the NYC metro is about the same as the Bay Area and Los Angeles metro area combined in terms of population.

The boroughs are each individually governed and accorded the status of Counties in New York State. The City of New York is a conglomeration of these 5 counties. NY State law allows counties to bind together and form a "super city"... for lack of better word.

An accurate comparison of NYC to LA is impossible because there are no conglomeration of counties allowed in California. The nearest comparison would be composed of LA County, Orange County, and probably Riverside and San Bernardino as well. Either way, the point still holds true... LA is far more spread out than most major cities-L.A Weekly
