If you had to rank them, which is 1st & which is last of these 3? I always wanted to visit Europe but never have yet. So I'm wondering where to visit someday, & if I ever hit the lottery (haha) I'd love to live overseas & see these places. But I've no clue as to which is THE best of these. Ok, just asking & having fun. lol

I have been to Vienna and Geneva.

Vienna is a much larger city with more going on, and is strikingly beautiful.

Geneva is my least favorite city that I have been to in Europe. It's not all that large and it seemed very business oriented. It also has a large immigrant population and parts of the city seemed sketchy (although is still probably safe compared to large American cities). Not to mention that the cost of living there is one of the highest in Europe, if not the highest.

I think Zurich would be a better option in Switzerland, although I have heard that Bern is quite charming.

I agree 100%.

I've found Vienna to be a bit grimy and found there to be some borderline people riding public transit.

Geneva strikes me as a sleepy place lacking in night life.

Although I do need to award Geneva a few points for proximity to Port Du Soleil (sp?) and reasonable distance from the even higher country of SW Valais. But in the end, Zurich is my favorite. Great, vibrant, well cleaned up city (most amazing transformation of the area NE of the main train station), not too far from good skiing.

I agree with this as well, except I'd replace Geneva (sehr teuer.. sigh) with something like Munich..if your considering the first two cities.

well, swiss cities are definitely expensive and probably not as vibrant as you would expect, but definitely they offer high standard of living. I visited Vienna just for few days. I liked it very much.

Yeah, Vienna wins for me. I love that city, grit and all. It's gorgeous and it has a ton of character. Geneva and Zurich are nice, but somewhat sterile and OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive.

I'd go
1) Vienna
2) Zurich
3) Geneva

Switzerland is a beautiful country with friendly people. However, based on the cities alone I would pick Vienna by a mile (well, 1.609344 kilometers).
