Good thing I didn't make this (I almost did). Just came to NYC about 7 hours ago. I haven't completely moved here yet. I've heard about there being an earthquake on the EC, and I was wondering where & when it was exactly. When did the Earthquake take place?

a 5.8 quake shouldn't even be news worthy.

Go to Japan, the West Coast, or any pacific rim nation and you will experience real quakes out there.

Well if a Hurricane hit San Francisco, that would be newsworthy, why they dont get hit, and on the east coast with earthquakes.

Lol sorry the almost-never-happens earthquake here on the East Coast made the news. NOTHING newsworthy about that. In fact, I wish they would have skipped over the story and just talked about another murder or something.

I know it never happens on the east coast but i just find it hilarious how big of a deal they will make it out to be.

edit- I'm not trying to be crude just I find it interesting how the media will blow this earthquake up as being bigger than it actually is.
After spending time in Japan, a 5.8 would be considered quite lucky.

It was rather dramatic in the D.C. area. The shaking of the ground and buildings was very obvious here.
