As a region the greater Providence area is significantly more scenic, as some have said, but Cincy gives much more of a "big city" vibe; though within Providences very compact city limits it seems overall more urban.
I'm not sure I'd say it's significantly more scenic. They both have rivers within the city while in the region it's a bit of a trade-off of the bay versus the hills as the Cincinnati area has quite a bit of topographical variation.

By Providence "region" I was including all the way down the bay to Newport, Jamestown, etc. I'm not sure how Cincy's region stacks up to that.
I could have sworn you were from Boston with that username.
Lol, nope I'm not! It's a reference to the fact I always liked video game consoles from Sony, Sega, and Nintendo, and a reference to my birthday date(June 17).

The RiverFire in Providence is way cool. Uncovering the Providence River through downtown was the best thing to happen to Rhode Island's capital and largest city in the last half century.

Cincinnati. Definitely feels more like it's own center of gravity as a city and metro. Providence just breaks up into more New England adjacent towns rather than a large sphere of influence. All of Southwestern Ohio and much of Northern KY gravitate towards Cincinnati. Providence is a state capital and has great access to water. Outside of that I don't think there's really a lot of strengths it has over Cincy. There's at least two major sports teams in Cincinnati, three if you count the MLS team. I think it's likely at least a half tier above Providence in general, which to me is better tiered with the likes of a Richmond, or Rochester.
