Philadelphia seems to have a rivalry with just about every city in the US. Either certain cities keep trying to put themselves above our level, which is laughable, or we're trying to remind other cities that we're on their level.

Sports-wise, the rivalries in my opinion with Philadelphia are as follows:

Phillies vs. Braves.

Flyers vs. Penguins and Flyers vs. Devils (I would personally add in the Red Wings and the Lightning as far as teams I hate as a Flyers fan because they both seem to be a thorn in the Flyers' side)

Eagles vs. Cowboys and Eagles vs. the Steelers

Sixers vs... this is a tough one.. but I'll have to go with Lakers in the post-season and Knicks and Celtics in the regular and post-seasons.

Phantoms vs. Bears. I had to throw that one in there.

I think our Big 5/City 6 college basketball rivalries are some of the best in the country though, and more recently even the Mayor's cup seems like it could start a real football rivalry between Temple and Nova.

It's a little too early for that I think. Rivalries take at least a few years to find out which teams are for real rivals and which teams just give you a hard time at times.

I don't think the Union have earned calling themselves anybody's rivals just yet. I will say though that the one thing I'm very proud of them about (well most proud of at least, as this past year was definitely something to be proud of too) is the way they played against ManU at the Linc in their first season.

Ain't no "probably" about it. In fact, I really don't see a rivalry there at all. Just because CLE beat NYY in a singular playoff series once hardly makes it a rivalry. Using that logic, the Mariners and Rangers are also Yankees' "rivals," which is preposterous. The NYY and Yankees fans loathe one team over all others: Boston. Period.

Back to the original topic:

NYC vs. LA
NYC vs. Philadelphia
NYC vs. Chicago
NYC vs. Boston
Miami vs. Tampa
LA vs. San Francisco
Cincinnati vs. Cleveland
Houston vs. Dallas
Seattle vs. Portland
KC vs. STL

DC and Baltimore are only "rivals" in the eyes of people from Baltimore.
