People in San Antonio hate going to Austin because the traffic there is so much worse, even though Austin is even smaller.

Myself, I think Nashville consistently has the worst traffic of any city.

Oh, and btw, the Twin Cities are under 4 million and have moderately bad traffic, although I believe Austin, Denver, Seattle and other cities with environmental barriers like mountains and such are worse off than "we" are. The traffic there may surprise you nontheless, especially if you're expecting to breeze through.
Traffic Pain: 10 Cities with the Worst Commutes | Financially Fit - Yahoo! Shine

This is from CNN:
While Los Angeles traffic has become the stuff of legend (commuters do lose an average of 63 hours a year to congestion there), the report identified Chicago and Washington., D.C., as the metro areas with the biggest congestion problems. Both burden commuters with an extra 70 hours of travel time a year beyond normal drive times.
L.A. was third, and the fourth worst congestion was in Houston, with 58 hours wasted. Baltimore was fifth with 50. Rounding out the top 10 were San Francisco (49), Dallas and Boston (both 48), Denver (47) and, tied for 10th, Atlanta and Seattle (44).

New Orleans traffic isn't so bad except for going to/from the West Bank, which has never made a lot of sense to me considering the area isn't that densely populated.

Never would have guessed, but I see your source is solid. Thanks, and +1!

That's why, bridges always get congested like that.
Baton Rouge is significantly worse all around, including the bridge itself.

Another place would be the highway going from Denver metro into Colorado Springs Metro. It literally had to wait an hour. Also Las Vegas is pretty Terrible! Any city in Texas...even the small cities! Its crazy!!

What do you mean exactly? I takes about an hour with free-flowing traffic on IH25 to get from Denver to COS...do you mean an hour stuck in Denver?

I used to think Denver had some bad traffic, but after experiencing Austin's waking nightmare of a commute, you all in Denver have it good IMO.

Austin is ridiculously underserved, infrastructure-wise. Or was, anyways. They have ONE freeway (I-35) that is supposed to handle the majority of commuters AND international and domestic trucking freight (I-35 is a NAFTA freeway) -- is there any wonder?

I'm curious if Austin's recently added freeways have helped take some of the congestion off of I-35.......Austinites?

For the VA Beach/Norfolk area to only have about 1.7 million people they have some pretty hectic traffic!
