Well there are tons of great things about each of these 3 cities and they are all unique in their own way. But if its punk/Metal scene you gotta go with Cleveland. The metal scene there is really above and beyond; I live in Cincinnati now. The heavy metal scene in Cleveland has produced: Trent Resnor and Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Mushroomhead, Chimaira, and even The Black Keys (ok so they are from Akron and a bit indie lol). Historical figures of influence on the genre who are from the area are Chrissie Hynde, as well as Joe Walsh and The James Gang. Glen Buxton the guitarist for the original Alice Cooper band was born in Akron, Ohio. Gilby Clarke of Guns N' Roses was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Don't forget Devo and the Rubber City Rebels. Or Michael Stanley.

I'm not too much of a Metalhead, but most people I talk to know that there is a big big metal scene in C-town, if that is what you are interested in. Good luck with your decision!
All 3 cities are unique in their own right. Cinci and Pitt are more alike, though with Pitt you get a bit more hockey and a bit less college basketball. Cleveland is a bit more metropolitain, has a more nationally recognized/burgeoning foodie scene and the downtown feels larger, but less dense than the other 2. Cinci is lacking in public transit, but is making some impressive strides. Haven't been to Pitt long enough to make a case for it, but I can't imagine you'd be unhappy there either.
