I had no idea Indy was the second richest Midwest metro, after Twin Cities. Impressive.

Chicago top to bottom is still the wealthiest Metro in the midwest. Disparity between rich-poor-middle class may be different between MSP/Indpls vs. Chicago but Chicago by far is the wealthiest.

Not according to the stats. According to Census, MSP is the wealthiest.

If you're saying that Chicago has the largest aggregate wealth, well that's obvious. It's easily the biggest Midwest city. By that standard, Chicago is wealthiest and Detroit is #2.

But usually when they rank metros by wealth, they're talking median household income, or per capita income, not gross wealth. If you're doing that, you might as well just rank the cities by size, and you'll be close to the gross wealth rankings.

Nice to see Indianapolis have the lowest poverty rate for any city aside from KS and the metro isnt to bad either. Also Indy beats out Chicago in Per Capita GPD which is nice. Means Indy has a stronger economy.

City yes, once you add the metro, becomes one of the highest mainly due to the economic issues in both Brown and Madison counties.

Looking here:

Highest-income metropolitan statistical areas in the United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Your numbers aren't per capita, they're median household income. Your Detroit numbers are really low, surprised to see Detroit lower than Cinncinati. Either Detroit had a 15% decline in median household income in the last 4 years, or your numbers are comparing something different than my link.

Income isn't in here at all. It's real per capita GDP.
