Once again as current fact:

2nd to Chicago in the Midwest

City population - Indianapolis
Metro population - Detroit

You can twist and slice all you want but the above remains "fact". Minneapolis isn't 2nd in either of the above categories yet so there is no debating this truth.
But when did anyone ask about city populations? Never! The only question asked was which is the 2nd most prominent Midwestern city, and even if you didn't include all of most cities' suburbs, Minneapolis (and especially Minneapolis/St. Paul) would still be a legitimate #2.

Nobody is in denial about Indy's municipal population. In the future we can just ignore you. Do I need to point out that Indy is "smaller" than Jacksonville? That's a fact, just a fact. What if I implied it should rank behind Jacksonville because of its rank when it comes to city prominence (the topic of this thread)? I bet anything somebody from Indy would step in and say something.

When you say "city limits are absolutely not arbitrary" I get the IMPRESSION (implied, not spoken) that you feel that Indy is a legitimate #2 candidate for this topic.
Wonderful. My impression is that you don't know how to read.

I'd rank them Detroit, then the Twin Cities, then a two-way tie between Cleveland/St. Louis, and then a five-way tie between Cincinnati/Kansas City/Indy/Columbus/Milwaukee.
^ This was on the very first page.

Or, you could've seen that it says "Location: Queens, New York City" in the corner of every post.

Indianapolis? 2,300. Indy to me is a bunch of suburbs with one city council. Sorry if that bothers you guys....
New York City alone has more people than the entire state of Minnesota.

See? I can do it too.

Let me give you a little geography lesson. Jacksonville isn't in the Midwest I only stated a fact and you bring a Southern city into this thread.

Define connection for us, please. I don't live in that city and didn't grow up there. I didn't even grow up in that state.

You can come up with a rationalization for anything.

Let's see: who knows more about Colts? Anonymous City-Data posters, or Colts himself? What a difficult choice!

Hold on, almost forgot--

New York City: 28,000 ppsm
Manhattan: 70,000 ppsm

Numerous suburbs above 10,000

There.
