New Jersey . Because even though there's some farm parts, they aren't more than 2 hours from NYC .

IMO. ...Please people travel a little. Don't make lame ass assumptions.

You're not making much sense. What is redneck about a Jersey Shore type person?

Hicks are poor rural people. Redneck is a (usually) derogatory name for a certain rural subculture. New Jersy and Conneticut may have lots of working class types, but they're definitely not redneck.

There are millions of culture-less people in the NE. Yes, Snooki and her crew is the epitome of class. LOL
The gold chains, and fat bellies from the pinelands and reckless behavior is a definitive definition of redneck of the Joisey Shore.

The definition of a "redneck" is varied throughout this country, hence they are in every state. PERIOD.

From your choices above, New Jersey.

California does have rednecks, in the rural areas and in the outskirts of cities (like San Bernardino, as you mentioned).

Riverside County as well - Hemet, Menifee, Norco, Lake Elsinore, Perris, and Calimesa, are all loaded with rednecks.

Washington?!

How did that get on the list? Aside from the Puget Sound area, Washington state is full of rednecks.

Redneck culture sure is a bummer isn't it? I just don't get it....

Since Rednecks are unfortunately everywhere, I'd go with the state on the list with the lowest population.

The Archie Bunker character is a good example of a city-dwelling redneck. This thread is truly delightful. Terrific for all to realize rednecks are everywhere and just because someone lives in a huge city they are not exempt from redneckness. I know a woman from Philly who only finished 6th grade and married a college educated Choctaw from Oklahoma who was a major in the Marines. She always calls him a redneck because he's from Oklahoma. So far as rednecks not being in California cities. I'm sure there are rednecks in LA and many other places.
