Nahhh, Dallas & Houston are more natural increasers & immigrant hubs than they are migrant hubs.

I would have too, but perhaps it's because we live in Collin county which is the transplant capital of DFW. It's not as visible in the other counties.

That was definitely what struck me most about this whole list. Really surprised that Philadelphia had a higher share of transplants than Dallas!

This is very interesting.

The article had some interesting take-aways

Growth in the US is more today a function of immigrants. Mosat growing areas are fuled by immigrants, they are no longer from Europe (well havent been for some time) and are driven by Mexican and Asian immigrants (save Miami and NYC a bot seems more anomolous)

My own take on my own metro. Philly's biggest issue on growth (population that is) is the inability to attract asian and mexican immigrants at a national pace

Couple of things to me. Obviously the Houston and DFW transplant rates (apparently they arent relocating there in droves).

Also I was surprised to see the asain population in Houston not too far above my own metro, more suprised by much of the asian talk in this regard. Looks like natural growth (birth-death) and mexican immigrants are the big drivers in the two large TX metros.

This was very facinating data actually, thanks for all the tables and links

Omaha having 33% transplants was a surprise to me. I was expecting around 25%.
