If I could combine 2 cities together to make something similar to LA, it would be Houston and Las Vegas.

Houston for of its size, skyline, freeways, older architecture and Mexican influence, plus the beaches.

Las Vegas for it's international notoriety and 24/7 vibe, freeways, upscale suburbs plus the dry weather.

LA doesnt have a 24/7 vibe IMO. The only cities in the US that do are Las Vegas, New Orleans, Miami, and NYC.

Los Angeles reminds me of a lot of other cities, and itself seems an amalgam of Houston, Seattle, sprawly Phoenix and San Diego for regional flare.

Until the bars are 24 hours, its hard for me to consider any city in California truly 24 hours. You can find clubs that are open that late and late night food, but thats a lot of cities.

NYC bars are not 24 hours either. Not that I consider LA a 24 hour city but I do consider more than just when bars and clubs are open. It’s a small number of people in any city that care whether clubs are open past 2 or 3 am. Many more people care about grocery stores, restaurants, shops, public transportation etc.

Miami's layout reminds me of LA's gateway cities (Maywood, Huntington Park, Southgate, etc), and Phoenix resembles the Inland Empire. Core LA is unlike anything in the United States.

Default Why isnt Houston one of the options?

Houston is the closest match to Los Angeles. More so than any other City listed in the poll. If you had listed Houston as one of the options it would have been by far the most popular option.
