Diversity for the sake of diversity is stupid. Diversity #'s is the single most overrated metric on this forum and many of the cities touted for their diversity, their own diversity is low income and high crime making their metros worse, not better. If they are high earning and educated, sure, that's great, they are adding to the community. But to brag that you are diverse and they are mostly living the slum life and half not even citizens? Please. Esp when these stats are used to put it over another city. What's so great about it after a certain point? What's so great about it when they aren't even integrated and outright hate each other with gang on gang violence? You get to eat some watered down immigrant food that isn't even the same stuff they eat in their home countries most of the time? Most people won't even bother to learn a second language, much less truly explore a different culture.I'd much rather be in less diverse cities such as Minneapolis and Boston for instance and even Atlanta than Houston or Miami. Why? B/C I find the cities better. All the 3 cities are still diverse enough. Somewhere like Portland is far more accepting of diversity than many of the places touted despite their statistical lack of it. There is no "sweet spot" # of diversity statistics. Having more of a certain population by no means makes a city better.

Probably because diversity is not a strong point for the city he lives in now.
yes b/c Chicago and SF before are not diverse. nice try, you guys are glossing over my argument btw. I never said no diversity at all. Try reading it again. The argument was never homogenous city vs diverse city. It was these "levels" of diversity like oh my city has more of these, and statistically more mongolians, therefore this puts it over the top.
There really is no city in US that is like LA in how it looks.
Well Miami and Hialeah may have some elements it not LA.
Both cities on grid system , both have one story store-front and buildings at the street ( LA has way more this by long shot) both one story house with little to no property ,apartments under 5 stories , both have tight parking thing.
Both cities have buildings more bright in color but Miami and Hialeah seems be way more .
Both LA and Miami have preppy look people dress up more when in public.
Both have foot traffic but LA has way more.
LA redevelopment plan in rich areas where in Miami it is Miami down town and by the water.
Also Miami and Fort Lauderdale by the water has the high-rise condo boom that makes stand out than most cities in the US.So the city change lot than it was 15 years ago by the water.
Why does Atlanta have so many votes? LOL. How is it ANYTHING like LA?
Anyway, the CLOSEST one to LA is Miami hands down, even though its similarities are limited to residential development layouts and single-story storefronts, etc., as described above.

None of them are anything like LA so you'd be loosing anyway. Maybe alof of people have never been to LA maybe they don't know LA is by the ocean!! Maybe the Chattahoochee reminds some of the Pacific who knows.
