The 2017 GDP numbers for metros were released last month and Albuquerque continues to lead both Tucson and El Paso by wide margins in both total and per capita terms:

Traffic continues to increase rapidly at the Albuquerque International Sunport, with nearly 3.6 million total passengers through August, which is 13.2 percent higher than the same period last year. In just the first 8 months of this year the Sunport has already surpassed both the Tucson and El Paso airports' yearly passenger numbers from last year:

Next month, the Sunport will regain international service with a flight to Guadalajara on Volaris.
