a pretty random comparison. which region would you prefer to live in or visit.

I'm from the TC's so I'm a little biased toward that region. I really liked Atlanta the couple times I visited. Mpls and Atlanta are similar as they had leaders in the past who were determined not to let their locations define them and as a result both places grew to what they are today. I like how Atlanta is one of the few places in the US to have a large black middle class and a fairly large black upper middle to wealthy class. I wish Mpls had some of this.

-Climate: Minneapolis>SanFrancisco>Atlanta (I love snow!)
-Scenery: SanFrancisco>Minneapolis>Atlanta
-Food: SanFrancisco>Minneapolis>Atlanta (Crab/Seafood dishes!)
-Arts: SanFrancisco>Minneapolis>Atlanta
-Architecture: SanFrancisco>Minneapolis>Atlanta
-Cost of Living: Minneapolis>SanFrancisco>Atlanta (You get what you pay for)
-Schools: Minneapolis>SanFrancisco>Atlanta
-Economy, Major Companies: SanFrancisco>Minneapolis>Atlanta (Silicon Valley for the win!)
-Transit: SanFrancisco>Minneapolis>Atlanta (Based on total metro coverage)
-Neighborhoods: SanFrancisco>Minneapolis>Atlanta
-Pro Sports, Stadiums: SanFrancisco>Minneapolis>Atlanta (The Braves should have been contracted/relocated for failure to sell out playoff games in the recent past)
-a random one, music history: SanFrancisco>Minneapolis>Atlanta

So an 8-4 advantage to San Francisco.

I have lived in all three places so it is an easy comparison.

1)Minneapolis - hope to move back there someday, wish the taxes were lower.

2)Atlanta - great place, horrible infrastructure especially outside the 285 perimeter.

3)San Francisco - over crowded, over priced and over taxed!

-Food - I like all the independent natural foods coops in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
-Arts *yawn*
-Architecture - Atlanta has the best houses, in SF the houses are jammed together with no space.
-Cost of Living - Atlanta or Minneapolis
-Schools - for K-12 definitely Minneapolis
-Economy, Major Companies - depends where one finds a job,of course SF has a lot of tech jobs
-Transit - Atlanta wins, less buses blocking the road and getting in my way
-Neighborhoods I plan to move to one of the great neighborhoods near Lake Calhoun, nothing close to that in SF.
-Pro Sports, Stadiums - will the Timberwolves ever get a winning team?
-a random one, music history - don't care

Minneapolis beats Atlanta on food, arts, transit, economy, and neighborhoods? What? Obvious bias against Atlanta.

For me:

1. San Fran
2. Minneapolis
3. Atlanta

Minneapolis is a great, great area.. but San Fran is a step above it. Atlanta's not bad either but I personally like Minneapolis a bit more (winters in Minnesota are beautiful but cold and the weather in the summer while it can be humid as **** is still a little more manageable than Atlanta). Food in Atlanta might be a little step above Minneapolis at this point though.
