Maybe someone else can weigh in on this? There seems to be a love affair going on with NOVA at the moment...and the thing is that I really like DC and it's burbs, but I'm not prepared to call them urban or to state that there is nothing better anywhere in the NCs/VAs.
I didn't say Nova was urban. There are parts of the Nova that are urban such as Alexandria, Crystal City, Pentagon City, Arlington, and what Tysons area is trying to become. I was stating that Nova is in noway just a typical suburb due to all the attributes I listed.

I generally describe NoVA as a sea of sprawl with some historic urban centers, New Urbanist town centers, and heavy rail transit thrown in.

I agree. I never called NoVA flat out urban either but got accused of it nonetheless. Fact of the matter though is that there are plenty of urban area's within NoVA such as those you listed.

I also think that there is a lot of southern pride going on here and that despite what anything anyone says, they will not deem their respective states anything other than perfect. That goes for everyone on here. Good thing its an opinion poll :/

Southern pride? For what? It's all southern in this thread. LOL! I got a real kick out of that one...

I obviously disagree with your views, and that's okay. We're all entitled.

It's very similar to countless other large-city suburban areas...that's the point. So in that way it IS a typical suburb. Many suburban areas have these same attributes.

You obviously have not ever been to Charlotte.

One other question, why the hell does urbanity matter so much on here?
Charlotte can't compare to D.C. (or its VA suburbs) by any stretch of imagination. Hell 7cities beats Charlotte too.

Um, yes we are. Good thing I said all parties were guilty of it. Next time try reading my posts because both of your criticisms of me have been completely non-factual.
