Been reading Chicago Toronto debates over the years. Seems like these two cities don't really compete on any real level except for these sort of boards. They inhabit two totally different spheres. But what they have in common is immense, the two Greatest Cities on the World's Greatest Lakes.

So here is my idea.....a sailing race between the two cities....would be an immense race distance wise, but could if executed well, bring global attention to the beauty of the Great Lakes, like the Tour De France does for France.

Of course, there'd have to be a portage from Buffalo to Canada at some point, but from a marketing perspective, even that )Niagara) would highlight the gorgeousness of our lakes.

Through the Trent-Severn Waterway or through Lake Erie?

Is there a current Great Lakes boat race covering all the Great Lakes? Maybe start in Duluth and end in Kingston and hitting up all major cities along the way. Also, transparent submarines. Where are they? Or ridiculous underwater hotels like this.

What are the liveliest underwater areas of the Great Lakes anyhow? Are there sections especially teeming with life?
