Miami. SF is uber wealthy and has a very high profile but somehow still "quaint" if that makes any sense. I think that is a major part of SF appeal. IMO the only real "superstar cities" in the US are NYC, LA and Miami.

The OP later clarified "superstar" to mean higher global profile. Miami doesn't even come close in that regard.

I'm not so sure about that-I would lean more toward Miami but it's hard to quantify.

Higher Global profile? Economically or just name recognition?

From the OP's criteria on the first page:

In the world of fashion, glamour, media, exotic cars, shopping, such and such. In terms of having the highest international profile as a city people want to be in for either life or leisure. In terms of celebrity chefs, drugs, television, nightlife, film, music, such.

Doesn't really sound like San Francisco does it?

SF feels quaint? Are you joking? Its downtown and inner neighborhoods are arguably more urban, vibrant, and bustling than any city in the country besides NYC. It sounds like you're basing your opinion of SF on Full House and the fact it has a well-known scenic bridge.

What about this feels quaint?

Sheesh, take a deep breath. I'm basing my opinion off me visiting the city and I mean the overall vibe of the place in comparison to Miami which IMO is more flash and glitz.. Boston, DC and Philly can also feel "quaint" for major cities to me. Of course I don't mean the downtowns of each city, although some blocks.

We all know San Francisco has the most Billionaires after NYC, is soooo dense and urban, yada yada.

Who knew someone could take offense to quaint?

synonyms:picturesque, charming, sweet, attractive, old-fashioned, old-world;

Miami for fashion, glamour, exotic cars shopping, city for leisure, drugs, television, nightlife
San fran for media, city for life, celebrity chefs
Both tie for film music

Miami is the superstar in this poll
