Most of Atlanta's system is above ground.

Atlanta vs. Denver? Ummmm. Where does one start to compare them? As been said before, it is like apples and oranges.

(Taking a deep breath in and a deep breath out.) You know there is more to it than just sprawl ?

Even though I grew up in Atlanta, I voted for Denver. Why? 2 reasons: weather and scenery. Denver has nice, hot, dry summers without all the humidity, and the view of the Rockies. Of course me ranking Denver higher than Atlanta would mean that it is one of the top places I would live in the U.S., up there with Seattle.

Denver by a landslide. The people in Atlanta are so rude and the mass of uneducated people is highly visible. There's no such thing as "Southern Hospitality". Even at the airport: it took me 10 minutes to understand what the employees were saying and to recognize an undestandable form of English.

I'll never return to Atlanta again, NEVER.

Denver because of the Rockies. Atlanta has nothing comparable to it.

Interesting. Despite the expressed disdain for "vs" threads, this one did not devolve into the acrimony occasionally seen on similar threads. That might be a subject of a new thread -- why do some "vs" threads spawn such anger (and I'm thinking anything where Houston is involved), while others not a bit?!?!

In any event, there have been many helpful responses on this thread. Currently, I am entertaining a job prospect that would have me moving from Atlanta (where I have lived for a few years) to Denver (where I have only visited briefly). I intend to go out there and look around, but in the meantime it is helpful to hear about the experiences of people who have spent significant time in both cities.

You ever notice negative threads like "who's the dumbest?", " who's the Ugliest?" " Such and Such place sucks" always get five times as many responses as positive threads? I guess people are just naturally negative beings.
