Wow good catch. No way is N.O. safer than Minneapolis or Houston.

Edit: or maybe I'm wrong. Is it just murders that are bad in NOLA?

It is based on per 1000 resident which really means nothing. These numbers also don't capture metro areas as a whole. No way on god's green earth is Myrtle Beach more dangerous than Chicago or New Orleans overall.

Gary just missed being on the list (it has safe 'hoods to balance the scary ones)
and Chicago didn't report rapes so that is a lacuna in the stats...

So does every other major city on the list. Gary still has a very bad crime problem.
