Nowhere within 200 miles of the east or west coasts, that's for sure.

People in California and Washington are actually quite friendly. I haven't spent much time in Oregon, but I'm sure there isn't much of a difference. West Coast people are pretty polite and friendly. At least initially.

Iowa. Of the states listed in the above poll, I will go with California. The state with the largest population is, of course, going to have the largest number of most friendly, nice people.

LOL! Why are New Jersey and New York on the list? They are by far full of the most self-absorbed, pissed off, and stubborn people in the nation!

Outside of the NYC metro area, New York state is pretty friendly. Much more so than anyone could expect.

Native New Yorkers are quite personable as well. I think you pretty much have to be a people person to live in a city of 8 million plus.

Not in California. I lived there. Fake nice abounds. No thanks. Polite isn't friendly.
