Las Vegas is where you go to party. Savannah is where you go to experience and appreciate some southern history and culture. The comparison is really apples and oranges and as others said, very strange.
These 2 cities are so very, very unlike that this is perhaps about the widest stretch in contrast between cities in one of these city vs. city polls that I have ever see here!
Firstoff, I have never been to Las Vegas & I have been to Savannah about 1 dozen times.
The appeal of Savannah to me has nothing to do with the fact that it is here in Georgia where I live. Rather it's appeal is multi-fronted & based on my love of history, old style architecture, the walkability of the riverfront & historic neighborhoods & squares & the charming & lovingly reborn downtown area not to mention the availability of the Atlantic oceanfront a short drive away.
I do not care for noise, garish architecture, as in masive casinos, monstrous hotels & the fake renditions of world famous skylines that are all combined in the Vagas strip.
The only reason I would consider visiting the city would be to leave it to visit the flora & fauna of it's desert setting & Lake Mead.
That all being said, I would never choose to live in Savannah & obviously would never even faintly consider settling in Las Vegas.
Savannah? Great little town. History, architecture, and culture to spare. Vegas? I'd just as soon live in a shopping mall. Hideous place. And the local economy is based on the exploitation of human weakness. Lousy vibe. Bad karma.

Isn't Bent Fork the home of Cousin Ernie & Teensie & Weensie?
LOL!
That's right. The old "peapicker" himself. "Sixteen tons and what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt..."
