I would say NYC, hands down.

SF's tech market. Every city in the US constantly announces that it is or will "become the next Silicon Valley." In LA, for instance, many like to call its tech industry "Silicon Beach."

As far as dense urban structures, of course NYC.

And I'm sure we'd all love to have Honolulu's weather and beaches.

I'm jealous of some aspects of these cities, but not really of the cities as a whole. For example, I'd love a 24 hour subway like NYC has, but can live without the devestating heat down in those stations, the rats, the general filth of the city, etc.

Mild-high temperatures and openminded people are very important for me.
Without those things i can't feel 100% happy, even with a 100k+ salary.
That's why i went with San Francisco, hippie mecca!

Honolulu is just way too isolated to be really jealous of.

For me probably San Diego. Great weather and generally beautiful environs in a manageable city.

Agreed, being on an island in the middle of the Pacific doesn't thrill me.

I like most of those cities, although I'm not "jealous" of any of them.
