Almost no cultural differences, Hudson isn't that redneck but the rest of St. Croix county is. but so is Washington county on the Minnesota side of the river. and no this won't be a problem for a Japanese family.

A Japanese family will fit in just fine anywhere in the Twin Cities metro, including any of the Wisconsin metro counties.

One of my coworkers is from Japan and she loves it here. Granted, she and her husband do live in Deephaven (a very upscale Lake Minnetonka suburb)...
