99.9% of people can see that the 4.3 million figure for "Greater Tampa Bay" keeps coming from the same source--the economic-based Tampa Bay Partnership. The MSA stands at 2.8 million. Your Canadian link and world population link pull from this, as well. That figure from that agency is what is at issue. Why won't the US census bureau recognize "Greater Tampa"? Because it doesn't exist, outside of that one economic agency's agenda, pure and simple.

MSA is Hillsborough/Pinellas and Pasco counties (it doesn't even include Sarasota, Manatee, parts of Polk and Hernando). There's continuous development all around these counties (as in CSA=Greater Tampa Bay). Anyone who can't see this is stupid INMO, especially those who claim to have visited, like you.

By the same token, NYC is being advertised as 23 mil CSA (that includes parts of NJ, CT and LI). At least all adjacent population in Tampa Bay is within FL!

Links prove your wrong and you keep singing like a canary it's propaganda.

NE counties/states are smaller, so your NYC "point" is moot.

What other links have you posted, outside of a vague satellite shot of Florida? The whole east coast of Florida is connected to Miami, therefore it's population all belongs to Miami. That's your reasoning. Keep reaching with Sarasota, Manatee, Polk and Hernandez--maybe in 10 years. But as of now, you're just reaching. Me, and a whole lotta other folks, will stick with MSA/Urban area.

hahaha NE counties are smaller, what an excuse. What other arguments have you brought up besides sticking to MSA's, while CSA's are the real measurement of an area's "real" size? If you could tell the difference, you wouldn't have started this argument.

You and a whole other folks should stick to MSA's within a single state(the rest down count).

What about Snottsdale, Azriona and Darian, CT? They definitely deserve to be on the list.
