If you like a smaller city then Savannah is great, but it isn't in the same category as Atlanta. The two are very difficult to compare for that reason. By almost any metric Atlanta is Georgia's premier city.

This thread isn't about cities in Georgia...it would be better to stay on the Houston/Dallas topic.

I've seen pics of Savannah. It is very beautiful. Of course, pics don't tell the whole story. But as far as a dreamy place to live, that looked like one.

I went to school in Atlanta for a short while. Beautiful, green city. But crime is high, and pay was low. I'm not sure about the cost of living there.

Georgia is a pretty state. It's just too far from family for me (shucks), and too far to go looking at houses and such. I hope to visit there again, though. Maybe I'll be able to go to Savannah.
