Yeah, I can't remember it ever really "cooling off" after it rained when I lived in Florida...it just went right back to being disgustingly humid again.

They're both pretty awful weatherwise in the summer, but in the winter, I'd give the edge to Phoenix because it stays warmer than Tampa.

Also, to the people mentioning beaches: I didn't realize that the beach was a part of an area's weather.

You got the ocean/bodies of water almost everywhere to cool off in FL(it's pretty much tolerable unless people are wimps). What does AZ have(Lake Havasu or Lake Meade)?

I've experienced both 110+F degree weather in landlocked areas(dry air that burns your skin) and FL weather in the summer. Even though neither is ideal, I'll take the 2nd.

What about hiking or running or biking or any outdoor activity that isn't swimming? I find that cold weather is "pretty much tolerable unless people are wimps." Agree?

Depends on how cold, and where. Colorado winter? Easy as pie. Wisconsin winter? No thanks.

I see people running, biking and doing outdoor activities all the time in FL(even in the summer).

There's wimps in cold and hot climates. People have to dress up to tolerate cold weather. In FL people are mostly active in the morning and late afternoon hrs. If you're close to the coast you get a breeze from the ocean. Not ideal conditions, but tolerable.

Almost everywhere? Not in inland FL.

The majority of Floridians live along the coast. Only ORL is a major inland metro area and that is still about an hr/hr and 15 mins driving from the Atlantic.

By that logic, you are admitting to being a wimp. Fair?

I've lived in the northeast. Choosing to live where there are mild winters does not equate to being a wimp.

I could probably call you a wimp for living where there are mild summers. Fair?
