One thing for sure, NYC isn't close to being the best sports town. the average fan is much more of a casusl than a lot of other cities.

Because it's hard for any other city to match up to NYC in everything. The city has everything you could want.

It isn't nearly the best at every single thing, but when discussing things like density, skyscrapers, transit, urban lifestyle, etc. NYC is easily at the top.

There are actually more people than not that aren't looking for those things, or at least not at the level found in NYC.

When comparing two cities, if NYC is in the poll it will always win. If it isn't, if one of the cities is in the Northeast against a city in the central or southern parts of the country, the city in the Northeast will win.

For two cities in the east vs central or western cities, the city in the east will win. Bonus points again for cities in the Northeast.

On the west coast, San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle are beloved and will usually beat anything in Southern California.

Most of the time a larger city will always beat a smaller city. Austin and Denver pull above their weight and will usually win despite being smaller.

The South is generally disliked except for Miami and New Orleans, but will win against most Plains cities and the smaller Midwestern cities.

Detroit, Phoenix, Jacksonville, and Oklahoma City are despised and will always lose any contest, unless they are competing against each other and it will be Detroit > Jacksonville > Phoenix > Oklahoma City.
Hit it on the mark! Near 100% accuracy. The forum members are predictable. If your city doesn't have PT trains every 2 blocks, a density of 200000k ppsm, and it has to be vibrant (alot of people walking around), disclaimer it can't be mostly black people walking around either or it's not vibrant, just ghetto. In reality most people don't care about half of the sh*t people on this site care about.

Why?

Because City Data has a boatload of railroad/public transit savants (literally) who are constant defenders of NYC's public system with regards to metrics of ridership and walkability.

It's why cities like LA always get pooped on in polls.

Because New Yawk City is the greatest city in the history of mankind. End thread.

Literally every ethnicity and nation in the world is represented here in respectable numbers. All this talk about density and skyscrapers and public transportation, while great, fails to encapsulate why cities are great in the first place: the people. And in this regard, NYC is numero uno, bar none. Everything else is just bonus!

????

You mean all the tri-stater's and midwest/west coast transplants are the greatest people on earth?

I grew up there and the people that stayed back and migrated 45 minutes to NYC were some of the blandest people in my high school class.

Nice try. I mean all of the people dedicated to making a living in one of the most difficult and beautiful cities on the planet. Whether that's your tri-staters/transplants, or your Dominican store owner, or your Wall St yuppie, or your Trinidadian model, etc, everybody. Based on your tepid response, YOU seem to be among the blandest people. Lol, if you're gonna talk ***t, at least do it with some pizzaz. Aren't you a New Yorker?
