Seems pretty damn prestigious to me. I'm sure most rational people would agree.
That entertainment is more ghetto/low class than tech and finance, most people would agree without any hesitation whatsoever. I mean, really, it's a no-brainer.

San Francisco is much more prestigious in person, on paper, statistically, in dreams, etc, than Los Angeles.

And it's not a surprise, LA has been on a steady decline for over 40 years while SF has soared in the other direction.

Any city on earth would love that title. Sorry.

It's from your source, smart guy. Newsweek said it, and its pretty common for everyone else.

Since you obviously don't know much, let me spell it it for you.
When people say la is the capital, they generally mean it produces the entertainment for the billions.
Las Vegas is called that for the entertainment it provides tourists.

How hard is it to figure out?

How are Hollywood movies.ghetto? What in the hell are you taking about?

You still haven't responded to what Bay area suburb is more prestigious than Beverly Hills or malibu, Cal tech.

You're just sad.

I'm pretty confident I can say tourists don't get their LA and Miami experiences from Straight Outta Compton and Scarface, you are welcome to shed light on it otherwise though.

So Hollywood punches above it's weight in prestige then? That's basically what your saying, whether you realize it or not.

Definitely not the same thing. A billion people watch the Oscars, FOR the Oscars. No one is logging onto Facebook to watch "Bay Area things". I'm sure most of the users don't even know where Silicon Valley is or even care.

Look at Facebook. The Official Los Angeles page has DOUBLE the amount of likes as San Francisco.

Or Instagram (owned by Facebook). There are almost 13 million Los Angeles hashtags. San Francisco? 7 million. San Jose? A little over a million.

Even the users of these Bay Area products wildly prefer Los Angeles.

Back on the prestigious topic. Tech is not prestigious. That's laughable. You act like everyone in the Bay Area is a regular Steve Jobs, when in reality most people see techies as rich, nerdy, D-bags. Finance, on the other hand, IS prestigious, so SF definitely wins there, but that's really the only part of your argument that works.

You sound like its an official government designation? lol

Sorry, but if we were to rank industries then Entertainment would fall well below Finance and Tech, let's keep it real. That's what I meant by ghetto, much lower prestige than the other industries.

Yawns.

The Bay Area OWNS this category without even trying. Sorry kid.

It's amazing that Los Angeles(Pop 18 Million) is smacked down by the far smaller Bay Area in a category so specifically pertinent to prestigious suburbs. The largest clusters of smart people who earn good money. San Jose ranks 3rd in the country, Oakland ranks 5th.

Largest Contigious Clusters of Elite Zip Codes
defined by at least 7 in 10 adults have a

Cal tech.
What about Cal Tech? Stanford is the most prestigious university outside of the Northeast and UC Berkeley is the best public university in the world.
