I can agree that "the feeling of comfort and belonging" you have as a Black person can include a lot of different cities. For me, I can say that as a current resident of metro Philly and a former resident of Atlanta and Charlotte. Of course Atlanta offers more "Black stuff" but I didn't/don't feel out of place or uncomfortable due to my race in the other two.

What is interesting is that NY State's Blackest zip code has a Black median HH income around $83-84,000: New York Black Population Percentage Zip Code Rank Based on US Census 2010 data
Here are some of the zip codes in SE Queens: 11411 Zip Code - USA.comâ„¢

11412 Zip Code - USA.comâ„¢

11413 Zip Code - USA.comâ„¢

11429 Zip Code - USA.comâ„¢

According to this info, these adjacent zip codes would roughly be 89% Black and have a Black median household income of about $76,500 with around 116,000 people.

Amen. Some people act like that's impossible or absurd, though.

I forgot about this other adjacent zip code that is 84% Black and has/had a Black median household income of $86,432: 11422 Zip Code - USA.com™

So, using the info from this source, the percentage of the 5 adjacent zip codes together is 88.3% Black, with a Black median household income of $78,484 and has 147,880 people.

Just to put this into perspective, the metro median household income for the NYC metro is around $66,000 and for NY State it is slightly over $58,000. Queens County has a median household income of $57,000 and only 5 NY State counties have a higher median household income than that of those 5 adjacent SE Queens zip codes. I believe that the figure for those 5 zip codes is also higher than any state median household income as well and the Black median household income is the highest median household out of all groups in Queens.

When did LipStick Alley become "the black City-Data"? No offense, but the few times I wondered across it, it was full of women and gay guys who thought they were women engaging in celebrity gossip, talking about which male celebs they would do, and discussing Beyoncé's newest album. It was hardly informative. Has it changed or grown from that recently or something?

Looking at that list, looks like DC is going to pass Chicago. Miami could pass Philadelphia and DFW is creeping up on Houston. The gap was 80k in 2000. It's now down to 30k. Both will be over 1.2 million by 2020 and Atlanta will have over 2 million by 2020 as well.
