That's probably where all the former Portland hipsters are going.

I like Oakland because it adds a different element than the classic hipster. Detroit is a game changer as well, so much potential. I think that although smaller, Tacoma has a Portland crossed with Oakland vibe that I have not found anywhere else and should be in the conversation.

Um, this is basically all wrong. Those three neighborhoods combined have like 3,000 residents. Even if half are hipsters (highly unlikely as all three neighborhoods are relative poor and majority nonwhite) that would be basically nothing.

And love the "please stop talking about Detroit". This is the C-D response when someone speaks the truth, using Census-based data. "Please don't post because we have an agenda unrelated to reality, and have no constructive response to factual data."

And, sorry, but hipsters tend to be liberal arts majors. Not too many hipster enclaves are dominated by accountants, actuaries and civil engineers.

Then you should be absolutely thrilled. No chance of that happening in a million years.

Exactly they saying that **** like somebody supposed to be mad
When I think of Portland or Austin I think super white, boring, coffee shops, bland modern. Y'all can keep it. The op like many others know Detroit isn't even like these cities and probably only added Detroit to bash it. Like so many people on here do. I'll take Detroit over majority of the cities lames like Nola praise on here. Get a life Nola every single time Detroit is brought up u can bet Nola commenting because he/she is OBSESSED with us. How do you live in NYC and your life revolves around a forum get real
