Because you know that you are unable to back-up your arguments.

No that's not it. For example look at this poll. Houston the 4th largest city, and supposedly a tier above Denver and Pittsburgh, is losing to Denver and BARELY beating Pittsburgh.

I feel if it were LA/SF/Chicago/NYC vs. Denver and Pitt most people would say those cities are just not comparable. But the simple fact that Houston is struggling to beat out Denver and Pittsburgh (two great cities in their own right) and that in the other thread of Chicago vs. Houston for scenery, Houston is getting massacred, I think the proof is in the pudding baby doll.

Half of those voters are jumping on the bandwagon, while the other half exhibit double standards/city prejudice. The poll has little to do with actual fact.

Ok, everyone is just against Houston. Everyone one hates Houston. Would you like me to play the violin for you as well?

Get real. Houston offers a lot of great stuff, but it's a sorry excuse for a city for that size, especially compared to its peers.

God forbid someone actually say they prefer Houston in a thread with completely SUBJECTIVE criteria.

It's not a sorry excuse for a city, but please continue to regurgitate the same blind nonsense that is repeated on C-D in every city vs city thread.

But that's not what's happening. The Houston boosters are saying people are only voting for Denver and Pittsburgh to vote against Houston. Houston has a lot of great things, but when you look at it as a whole there are dozen large US cities more interesting and better than Houston.

It is. I mean whoever says "Oh let's go visit Houston for fun!" It's a severly lacking city in character and when it comes to urban fabric.

Nope, there has yet to be an intelligent/reasonable refutation to the desirable scenic qualities Houston has (evergreen vegetation, proximity to Gulf, high natural biodiversity, etc).

That would only be a perception based on the lack of research/exploration by many people.

It doesn't matter anyways, all the arguments against the city on this thread so far have been rather lame and weak; too many strawmans and ad hominems to take seriously.
