Missoula is MT, not ID

Both are good, depends on your preference: big town vs small city

Missoula is much more geared toward the outdoor lifestyle and it will seem much more prevalent there if that matters to you.

Spokane is much larger. In its relatively vibrant downtown, it has a Nordstrom, conveyor-belt sushi, and a 700-room convention hotel as well as a decent section that's pretty cohesive with mostly historic buildings. Its scenery within walking distance exceeds many of the country's state parks, including its downtown waterfalls. It hosted a world's fair. Yet it's still middle class and seeing moderate growth.
