Myrtle Beach isn't a South Beach Miami, but there's a good amount of bars. Mainly on Ocean Ave and Broadway the Beach, and scattered along US17.

The Charleston area beaches are 30-45 minutes closer to Columbia than MB, only a little over 2 hours away. You can also get to Hilton Head in a shorter amount of time from Columbia.

So there is variety of beach options within 2-3 hours of Columbia.

Yup. Even Savannah and the Jacksonville area beaches aren't that far away.

It's pretty accessible to the mountains as well. Another plus for Cocktown.

Dallas/Fort Worth is basically Charlotte & Atlanta combined, on steroids. It is every bit a 'Sunbelt Suburban city' in every sense of the word.

Interesting that you prefer it, yet continually dismiss Charlotte and Atlanta.

I think he's saying that Charlotte and Atlanta are basically the same places while Dallas and Memphis are more unique from one another. Charlotte offers basically the see things that Atlanta does, Memphis offers something that Dallas does not.
