No real surprises, but interesting nonetheless.

Interesting results, even though I would have thought Atlanta would be higher up. Also surprised to see my home state (NC) cities of Raleigh and Charlotte making the list and being in the top 25. Growth in the Carolinas is indeed picking up!

On second thought, yes Atlanta should be higher. Horrible.

It's not just about how long you commute, but how you commute. I think that's the dynamic when factoring in the most stressful commutes per the link. I'd take 60 mins on a commuter train over 45 mins in my own car because I don't have to pilot a vehicle on the train.

Looks like only 27 cities total were surveyed, so others were left out that could have ranked ahead of Raleigh and Charlotte. Unsurprisingly, Minneapolis is also close to the bottom of both lists.

Agreed. It would be interesting to see more detailed data split by type of commute.

Atlanta's traffic is only bad in the central and northern parts of the metro. The east, south, and west sides are pretty easy going as far as traffic.

Mine is 35 minutes in Chicago each way. I don't mind at all though, a 4 minute walk to the train, a 22 minute train ride and an 8 minute walk from the station to my desk at work. Exact same amount of time each day regardless of sun, snow or rain, no driving, no paying attention. I just read the news or play games on my phone, chat with friends. I would never go back to driving if I don't have to.

Yes. Even at it's worst, I would rather be stuck on the subway than on a freeway.

I'll also go ahead and point out Austin is horrible given it's size.

You know, I always seems to forget that traffic on that side of town isn’t as bad. I guess that kind of mellows out the commute time avgs for Atlanta. Even though the metro is very lopsided in its growth with the majority of growth and jobs being on the north side.
