The Boise river greenbelt/trails, mountains starting within walking distance of Downtown, a university that takes anyone who can fog a mirror but plays good football, a solid little downtown...Boise clearly.
1. Downtown: Boise
2. Natural Beauty: Boise
3. Economy: San Jose
4. People: Boise
5. Attractions: Boise
6. Population: San Jose
7. Transportation: San Jose
Boise does have some clear advantages over San Jose. It's also interesting that Boise is beating San Jose in the poll. I know the OP tried to pick a city that he thought San Jose would win easily against but Boise can hold its own in some aspects. I'm predicting an upset in favor of Boise.
