If you're rich, it probably doesn't matter what race you are, and too a large extent where you live.

Wealthy blacks have the same problems as less affluent blacks.Sometimes its not overt racism but you feel like people are judging everything hyou do.Black well to do places have their own traditions and societies where they dont have to prove anything to anyone. They can just be comfortable in being who they are.
Why dont wealthy whites move into wealthy black neighborhoods?

Race matters a lot in America, Sunny Hostin of the View on ABC was in Sag Harbor, Hamptons which has a history of being a vacation spot for rich and ivy league black people, a group of white teens ran in front of her house and starting chanting N word and saying 4th of July is their holiday

In many cities wealthy blacks still have issues of people perceivingg them as something they are not.

Also comes to mind when Henry Louis Gates was attempting to get in his own house and the police was called on him.He explained but policemen still didnt believe him
Oprah's incident was exactly people perceiving her as what she was--a black woman--in a place she wasnt wanted...

And yet, the reality of being black is not as simple as being able to go and live wherever you want free of discrimination and judgement....

I completely understand this. Not even elected officials are immune from systemic racism as evident recently in OR where door to door campaigning resulted in police being called on an elected official who was campaigning for re-election.
However, this should not result in capitulating to hate and discrimination through our own decision making. This would be true for any group who finds themselves marginalized in society. I'm just saying that I wouldn't allow others to limit me based on their narrative. If I were rich, I'd go to where I would want to go.

I had a conversation with a professional Black male who was a Dr and wife was a successful businesswoman. He choose to raise his children in an environment where they where not the only ones at the pool or going on hay rides with other neighborhood children. They are not feeling the racism that they once had to deal with living in a mostly White neighborhood. It does make a difference.
