Very stupid list as far as I could tell...they showed every US city with exactly the same alcohol consumption. Vegas and New Orleans would have to be on any list of US party cities and DC at the top
What is more interesting in this list is the number of nightlife venues per 100,000 people:
Miami - 532 per 100,000
DC - 240 per 100,000
San Francisco - 237 per 100,000
Seattle - 223 per 100,000
Denver - 220 per 100,000
Boston - 199 per 100,000
Chicago - 169 per 100,000
Dallas - 139 per 100,000
Philadelphia - 133 per 100,000
NYC - 115 per 100,000
Houston - 114 per 100,000
Los Angeles - 103 per 100,000
Phoenix - 94 per 100,000
Of course, more compact cities show a higher concentration per 100,000. In this list, DC has the second highest concentration.
Yea I immediately was going to point this out until I read your last paragraph. Noticing the cities with the largest land space were at the bottom!

I wouldn't necessarily call Seattle or Denver compact.
Well that's it then. You must be right. Thanks for your help.
You wonder why you get "condescending" responses?
Let's put your extensive education to use. You posted the article and are now challenging people who question it. I say it's clickbait and explained why, as have others. You've only responded with short offhand retorts.
So defend your post and source. Why is this a reputable report?
Just looked at the list and sorry. Boston, Chicago and Dallas do not party harder than NYC.
Also Vegas is not on the list and I would also rank Miami higher than DC!
And I actually enjoy DCs nightlife so I already spot the BS.
Chicago would be a close second in your list. More saturated areas of nightlife than most of NYCs burroughs including Manhattan. However, NYC still wins.
DC, Boston, and (especially) Seattle do not belong on this list. I love a lot of things about DC and Boston, and I most certainly wouldn't call them boring. Ever wandered into a party in the neighborhoods of Allston at 3 am? An eclectic mix of basement dwelling Harvard students, BC students, BU students, high school drop outs, heroin addicts, and the homeless listening to grungy a** punk.
But top party cities in the US? No chance.
