Exactly he needs to relax, especially since he's not from the West Coast and has never even been to San Jose or the Bay Area.

MSA vs MSA:

1. Population: Charlotte has a larger population

2. Economy: San Jose's economy is at another level

3. Diversity: San Jose in it's sleep

4. Downtown: Charlotte has a much nicer downtown

5. Scenery: San Jose imo

6. Airport: Charlotte has a larger airport

7. Shopping: San Jose has the best shopping of any MSA under 3 million except Las Vegas and Honolulu

8. Weather : San Jose without even trying

I don't knock either one, but IME I find something comforting in their common banality. Neither is exciting; both are pleasant. I find neither particularly objectionable. My daughter lives in San Jose; I visit her a couple of times a year. She says that if Xanax was a city, it would be San Jose.

Downtown: are you sure about that? Downtown San Jose is always vibrant and busy and doesn't sleep like Uptown Charlotte does on weekends

It demonstrates that posters clearly don't know much about SJ. SJ has some of the best shopping and downtown in the country.
