That might be difficult to prove since 5 of the 10 Richest Indians in the US, including the richest woman, lives in the Bay Area.

What are you considering South Asian though? I would argue, geographically, places like Yemen and Oman are South Asian … the Middle East is not a continent. Those nations are technically Asia and are on similar latitudes to places in Vietnam, Thailand, Laos … etc. (which is SouthEAST Asia … different than South Asia).

So to me, with the logic above, the other poster who you quoted would actually be correct about Detroit. Some Arabs come from 'South Asian' nations.

The Arabian peninsula isn’t South Asia.

I had to look up the wealth thing...

Selected Metro Areas(MSA) by South Central Asian Foreign Born Average Household Income, 2017
San Jose $205,544
San Francisco $182,627
Boston $161,533
Washington DC $141,633
Houston $136,435
New York $134,707
Dallas $128,852
Chicago $126,870
Los Angeles $120,353

This is exceptionally high for such a large immigrant group. Kudos to them.

That's what we are talking about, the entire metro actually, there are plenty of south Asians in MD also.

If they are on the same latitude as places in Vietnam and Thailand, I would argue that they are. Not the entire peninsula, but some areas.

Dude, it’s not a subjective topic. The census defines South Asia as India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal, and Afghanistan.

That's kind of a shocker. I think the difference between Chicago and the Bay Area is that there aren't any single city out there that has as many Desis as Chicago proper, but I could be wrong. Why does the Bay have more than twice as many Desis as LA? Is it all Silicon Valley related?
