Two somewhat lackluster Midwestern cities that are largely unknown outside of their regions. Which one is better based on:

Downtown
Crime
Walkability
Future outlook
Employment
Cost of living
Things to do
Architecture
Climate
Where would you rather live?

Future outlook: Wichita by far
COL: Wichita
Things to do: Toledo (because it's close to Cedar Point...)
Architecture: Toledo
Climate: Wichita

Toledo has over 9 million people living within a 100-mile radius of the city.

Wichita has 1.2 million living within the same radius.

Toledo edges from a city-to-city standpoint but wins in a runaway from a regional standpoint.

Wichita is really cheap. However, the weather sucks and it’s hard to find anything to do when I go visit my son.

Mine Below:

Downtown: Toledo, but downtown Wichita is pretty cute
Crime: Wichita
Walkability: Toledo
Future outlook: Wichita
Employment: Wichita
Cost of living: Both are cheap
Things to do: Toledo
Architecture: Toledo
Climate: Wichita
Where would you rather live? I would prefer to live in Wichita if given the choice. Toledo's biggest selling point is its proximity to Detroit IMO. But as a city, I prefer Wichita. I actually quite like Kansas as well.

I'm really not a fan of either, but I think Wichita is better overall than Toledo.

Right now, probably Toledo. But after Wichita opens their new downtown riverfront AAA ballpark, they might pull ahead. I don't know though. Kansas does not have a very good track record for having high quality urban areas. There basically is none and the few cities KS does have are all pretty trashed compared to most similar sized cities around the country.
