What do you "mean by that " St Louis is on the Mississippi River instead of the Great Lakes?

My wife family comes from Milwaukee Wisconsin and Arkansas , and my family comes from Oklahoma....

I spend a great deal of time in Chicago and Milwaukee and St Louis...

I have never been to Seattle so I can't judge it, but I have met people who moved to Minneapolis who were also considering Seattle but chose Minneapolis because they said it was similar but cheaper. I've heard Minneapolis described as Seattle for the middle class.

Aside from rowhouses they aren't alike at all. Philly is more of a poor man's Boston or NYC.

Baltimore is pure anarchy.

I've been to both, and I don't see the similarities, that much.

I've lived in Milwaukee and Chicago, and been to St. Louis. Milwaukee reminds me, much more of Chicago, than does St. Louis.

Pittsburgh could be a poor man's Boston... or New York, or Portland, or Seattle... Pittsburgh imo is too unique to be compared to another city.

I'd say New York's cheaper variants would be Chicago and Philly

For Boston I'd say Baltimore is probably the only city in the entire country remotely like it and cheaper. You could go with Providence but it's significantly smaller than Boston. It's difficult to compare Boston to anything other than Seattle, San Francisco, New York, and Baltimore because for a city to be anything like Boston it has to be near the coast.

For Los Angeles I'd go with Houston and Las Vegas for sure. Both are obviously the best candidates. I would include the Miami metro area as a whole. Not just the city.

For Chicago I'll choose Milwaukee or Detroit.

For Philadelphia I'll choose Baltimore.

For Miami, the Orlando metro area or San Diego.

For San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle, I'll go with Reno or Salt Lake City.
