I could name maybe hundreds that have closer ties than Gary to Pittsburgh. Philly/Camden, Washington/Baltimore just for starters! or are you talking only about cities that are far apart? probably the city with the most ties to Pittsurgh that is out of state, is Youngstown, OH.

I meant historically. Gary was founded by Pittsburgh based US Steel. The original elite of Gary were all from Pittsburgh.

You're very proud of your city, and I really respect that. I do love underdog cities, so I hope Gary can continue it's path of revitalization.

I lived in Cleveland for many years, and when I first moved there in 2007, it was still a little rough around the edges and was only in the beginning stages of revitalization, but I loved the character of the city and would defend it when people trashed it.. If you visit Cleveland today, it's booming; it has one of the best downtown areas of any city in the midwest. Of course stuff is on hold right now because of Covid-19, that's a given....but the city is awesome.

Hopefully the same happens with Gary!
