Going back a few pages... I live in Greensboro, and I've driven by the Rosewood neighborhood for years, but never ventured inside to explore. It's a neighborhood wedged between a busy expressway on one side, a main divided artery on another, and another busy 4 lane road to the west. Thanks to this thread, I've discovered a neighborhood that I wasn't familiar with.

Cambridge. I'm partial to Vermont, plus the the housing stock looks more pleasing to the eye, and not ramshackled like the Oregon housing.
Honestly as much as my decision here may surprise some people, I REALLY love the architecture and walkability I see that the town of Edenton has. So I'll go with that.
Props to Lake Junaluska for creating a walking path around that lake, a la what was down around Lake Geneva in Wisconsin. That said, I am surprised for interior(between the NC coast and Raleigh, as a lot of smaller towns in eastern NC have disappointed me, when I've street viewed them) eastern NC, how much I liked what I was able to street view of Edenton.
Now looking at small town downtowns, but in a different southern state:

Weequahic by far. I'm not familiar with the neighborhoods of Newark's south side, but this one also adds another file to my mental folder labeled "Newark gets an undeserved bum rep."
Two more neighborhoods in perhaps similarly unexpected locations:
